This year’s campaign emphasizes the importance of building and maintaining a safe-driving foundation—whether employees drive on behalf of their company, commute to and from work or coach a new driver at home.

HERE’S THE CAMPAIGN AT A GLANCE:
Monday: Buckle Up! Seatbelts should never have time off!
Tuesday: Steer with a Clear Head (recognizing and preventing driver fatigue)
Wednesday: Drive Distraction-free
Thursday: Parking and Backing Basics
Friday: Fine-tune the Fundamentals (to avoid the most common types of crashes!)

The campaign toolkit is Web-based and provides downloadable activities and resources for each day of the campaign week. Toolkit components include:

  • FACT/TIP SHEETS ON THE CAMPAIGN ISSUES

  • DAILY ACTIVITIES WITH SUPPORTING RESOURCES

  • DOWNLOADABLE GRAPHICS

The DSWW campaign has been sponsored by the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) since 1996. Although the observance of the campaign takes place each year during the first week of October, the materials are not dated and can be used throughout the year for continued promotion of safe-driving practices.

For questions on downloading materials, please contact lstevens@trafficsafety.org.

For more information on NETS, visit www.trafficsafety.org.
